In the three-part workshop format, we looked at artistic practices that are dedicated in different ways to witchcraft (as a feminist practice) or witches (as a self-designation). Through short presentations, the research was shared with the group, discussed and spun further - in order to learn collectively, to reflect, to tell and listen polyphonically. The workshop opened with the lecture ‘magic - über die Welten die wir verloren haben’ by Louisa Raspé, about the concept of magic and the transition from a magical to a mechanistic view of the world. In a circle training on the following day entitled “giving meaning / practicing fabulation” by and with Louisa Raspé, we thought about potential definitions of terms and the possibility of overwriting, fabulations in gaps in (his)stories and tested them in the form of writing exercises paired with the simplest physical exercises. We concluded with an evening of interweaving research in the form of performative objects, physical exercises and activist business cards.
