In the seminar we investigate the potential of public concrete squares as whereabouts. The forecourt of the HfG serves as a testing ground. What characteristics and peculiarities does this square bring with it? How, when and by whom is the forecourt used? What interventions can designers make to improve the quality of the forecourt? Based on these analyses, designs and prototypes for temporary architectures, interventions or mobile places to stay are developed.
The focus is on the practical implementation of an idea. Starting from a basic concept it is further developed concretely on the design in different scales, materials and stages. The designs were installed in the form of usable prototypes for the Rundgang 2023 of the forecourt.
